How do you reset ducted heating?
If your system slips into a fault or needs a reset, you could be looking at anything from a loose sensor to a failed board. Before touching the controls, note any error code or message on the screen—handy information if you end up logging a service call.
A reset won’t cure every fault, but it’s the quickest first move. Power interruptions or a minor software hiccup often clear on restart; a blown component will trip the unit again and flag the real culprit.
Standard reset
- Turn the wall controller OFF.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Turn the controller ON.
If the display stays clean and the heat flows, you’re done. If it faults again, book a technician.
How to reset Braemar ducted heating
Braemar units follow the same logic, with one extra safety layer:
- Switch the wall controller OFF.
- At the heater, flick the isolation switch (usually next to the unit or on the nearby power point) OFF.
- Wait 60 seconds to let the internal capacitors discharge.
- Turn the isolation switch ON.
- Turn the wall controller ON and set your desired temperature.
No new fault code? Enjoy the warmth. If the controller flashes the same error, the system needs professional attention, don’t keep cycling it.
